Synopsis: This presentation will review implant dentistry over the last 20+
years. The course will focus on treatment planning of dental implants and which
courses of treatment allow patients to receive excellent longevity from their
implants. Throughout the presentation an
important aspect in the treatment planning process is the availability of bone
grafting techniques which allow implants to be placed in areas once not thought
possible. The techniques of bone grafting have improved significantly over the
last 15 years and the presentation will show that bone grafted implants,
maintain as well as non-bone grafted implants with comparable success at the
time of placement. This course is designed for the general practitioner.
Following this presentation the dentist will be able to recommend specific
courses of treatment to their patients with the confidence the implants
presented will work excellently and allow the patients more than 15 to 20 years
function.
