 :  This course examines the relationship between orofacial structure\, fun
 ction and airway health and how these factors influence outcomes across de
 ntal specialties.  Dental providers are uniquely positioned to identify fu
 nctional dysfunctions that may contribute to conditions such as malocclusi
 on\, orthodontic relapse\, dental caries\, periodontal disease\, temporoma
 ndibular disorders (TMD)\, sleep-disordered breathing\, and overall treatm
 ent instability.  Participants will gain an introduction to orofacial myof
 unctional therapy (OMT) and its role in interdisciplinary care\, with a fo
 cus on how oral rest posture\, breathing patterns\, and swallowing functio
 n impact craniofacial development and oral health.  Attendees will learn t
 o recognize signs of myofunctional disorders\, implement simple screening 
 strategies\, and determine appropriate referral pathways to support improv
 ed\, function-focused patient outcomes.
