"Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Endodontic Inflammation\, Infection\, a
 nd Fractures""Root Resorption: Types\, Diagnosis\, and Management""Iatroge
nic Incidents: Perforation\, Instrument Separation\, and Sodium Hypochlori
te Accident" Instructor: Matthew Malek\, D.D.S. A Board Certified En
dodontist and the Director of the post graduate program in endodontics at
New York University. Dr. Malek is involved with several research projects
which focus on pain and resorption of the root\, in which he has the most
interest. He lectures frequently to local\, national\, and international
communities on the topic of resorption. He is also the author/co-author o
f several peer-review articles and chapters in prominent endodontic journa
ls and text books.Dr. Matthew Malek has no financial relationships relevan
t to this presentation to disclose.Synopsis: The first part of this prog
ram focuses on diagnosis and treatment planning. This lecture addresses t
he practical and clinical challenges associated with endodontic diagnosis
and emphasizes how an accurate diagnosis can guide appropriate treatment p
lanning and lead to successful clinical outcomes. The second part focuses
on resorption. Root resorption is more common than often anticipated\, a
nd its diagnosis represents one of the major challenges\, as it can someti
mes be difficult to distinguish from other lesions\, such as caries. This
presentation reviews the different types of root resorption and provides
practical clinical tools for their diagnosis and management. It also pres
ents clinical cases with long-term follow-up and discusses both healing an
d failure. In addition\, new technologies and advanced scientific methodo
logies used in the diagnosis and treatment of resorptive cases are introdu
ced. The third and final part of the program addresses iatrogenic inciden
ts. Such incidents are common among practitioners at all levels. This pr
esentation discusses common errors -- including perforations\, instrument
separation\, air emphysema\, and sodium hypochlorite accidents -- supporte
d by clinical case examples. Methods of prevention and outcomes are also
explored from both clinical and scientific perspectives. The Ninth District
