DESCRIPTION:Location: Webinar\nEmail: diane@ninthdistrict.org\nPhone: 914-7
47-1199\n\nWebinar: "Modern Diets and Their Role in Caries\, Periodontitis
\, Malocclusions\, and the Diseases of Civilization" (Course Objective: 1
  - 2 MCE Credits)Instructor: John Sorrentino\, D.M.D.\, F.A.G.D.Synopsis:
The genius Homo is a 2.5-million-year-old lineage while our species\, Hom
 o sapiens\, as a species\, are about a 250\,000-year-old linage. Yet there
is little evidence of caries\, periodontitis\, or malocclusions before ab
out 10\,000 years ago. Curiously this corresponds with the Neolithic perio
d and the dawn of human agriculture. This lecture will explore the role of
genetics and environment in the development of the so called “diseases of
civilization\,” with a focus on these dental maladies. We will explore the
thesis that reverting to what I term A Species-Appropriate Diet for Human
s is what our genetics has prepared us for and is the proper tool for not
 just treating\, but actually eliminating\, these diseases.ADA C•E•R•P® │Co
