COVID-19 UPDATE
At this moment Dentistry is still considered an essential business for emergency and urgent dental treatments only, in all areas of New York. Dental offices should not plan to reopen for other services until we receive clearance from the state.

ADA Asks Congress To Support Dental Profession In Next COVID-19 Relief Package

ADA Asks Congress To Support Dental Profession In Next COVID-19 Relief Package

The ADA News (5/5, Garvin) reported that the ADA is asking lawmakers to support the dental community as Congress begins work on the next COVID-19 relief package. The article said that in an Issues Alert email sent to dentists, ADA President Chad P. Gehani called on dentists to visit the ADA Legislative Action Center and urged them “to contact their senators and representatives” to ask them to include “recommendations aimed at assisting dental practices, dentists, their staffs and patients.” The article also noted that the ADA sent a letter to leaders of the House and Senate on this issue. The ADA’s recommendations include increasing “flexibility within the Paycheck Protection Program” in order to “allow small businesses to make more appropriate decisions about staffing and payroll based on when they plan to fully reopen” and increasing “the production of personal protective equipment and focus its distribution to dentists and health care providers.”

Dentists are asked to visit the Legislative Action Center now to contact their legislators on these provisions.
