The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.
In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.
The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

New Dentists Encouraged To Participate In Organized Dentistry, Politics
Writing in the New Dentist Now (5/21) blog, Dr. Mohlab Al Sammarraie, a member of the ADA, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society, says that modern dentistry is challenging and expensive, which “places a huge load on the shoulders of young dentists.” To help young dentists face these challenges, Dr. Sammarraie encourages “taking on vital roles in organized dentistry and politics.” Dr. Sammarraie adds, “COVID-19 has shown us that the health care system needs more work and that public health should be taken care of as national security,” and “dentists should be engaged in future changes so that they can play a major role in those changes.”
