To: Ninth District members

The Ninth District Dental Association Board of Governors regretfully announces the cancellation of our Wednesday, May 20, 2020 General Meeting at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown, NY.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but trust you will understand this decision has been made with an abundance of caution, and in the interest of public health to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

We look forward to seeing you at our two remaining 2020 General Meetings:
Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY and
Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY.

Please note, our Frills and Drills - Celebrating Women in Dentistry social has been postponed to the evening of Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Saltaire in Port Chester.

We encourage everyone to follow the recommended safety precautions at the CDC’s website.

Thank you for your continuing support of the Ninth District Dental Association and we look forward to seeing you September 16th at our General Meeting!

Stay Safe and Healthy.

ADA Urges Eligible Medicaid, CHIP Providers To Apply For HHS Relief Funding

The ADA News (6/23, Garvin) reports that “the ADA is encouraging eligible Medicaid and CHIP providers to apply as soon as possible to receive funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Enhanced Provider Relief Fund Payment Portal ahead of the department’s July 20 deadline.” The article said that while “HHS has indicated a future Dental Targeted Distribution Fund is in the works,” the department stated in its FAQs that “dental providers should not have the expectation that there will be [an advantage] by applying for funds from one distribution over another” and that “dentists should apply for a Provider Relief Fund payment in the first Targeted Distribution in which they are eligible.” HHS is also hosting a webinar Thursday at 2 p.m. EST to assist eligible Medicaid and CHIP providers with their applications.
