The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

COVID-19 vaccine administration could start today

After the FDA granted emergency use authorization to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Friday for people 16 and older, CDC Director Robert Redfield, M.D., authorized vaccination to begin, CNN and The Hill report. The vaccine began moving out Sunday from Pfizer's facility in Michigan, with an estimated 184,275 vials to be transported by freight trucks to shipping hubs for delivery to 636 locations by Wednesday. The first vaccinations could begin today, and there should be enough shipments by the end of the year to fully vaccinate 20 million people, Army Gen. Gustave Perna, chief operating officer of Operation Warp Speed, told National Public Radio.
