The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.
In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.
The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

The Department of Health and Human Services named Lawrence Tabak, D.D.S., Ph.D., the principal deputy director of the National Institutes of Health, the incoming acting NIH director effective Dec. 20, according to The Hill. Dr. Tabak will be interim director while the agency seeks a permanent replacement for NIH Director Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D., who steps down from his position Sunday. Dr. Tabak also has been the NIH's deputy ethics counselor and has served as the director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. "(Dr.) Tabak has a deep grasp of the most pressing scientific issues confronting our nation, he has earned respect across NIH as a thoughtful and strategic manager and is committed to building a healthier and more equitable America," said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra.
