New law could put more mobile dental clinics on the road
Supported and advocated for by the ADA
The recently passed MOBILE Health Care Act, which was supported and advocated for by the ADA,gives federally qualified health centers more leeway to use federal funds for mobile programs so greater numbers of patients can be served. Mobile dental clinics are in high demand, says the Wendy Madson, executive director of the Healthy Communities Coalition in Nevada, which has planned three dental clinics this year funded by a Health Resources and Services Administration grant. Experts say it may be about a year before the facilities can start taking advantage of the increased funding from the MOBILE Health Care Act.
