The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1200 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

New CDSiC Leadership Viewpoint Describes Planned Activities for CDSiC's Third Year

As the AHRQ CDSiC continues efforts into our third year, the Stakeholder Center and Innovation Center teams will build off the momentum of the first two years by developing a new set of products that address important research gaps in PC CDS. This Leadership Viewpoint highlights upcoming CDSiC products and projects that will contribute to four key themes related to PC CDS: 1) exploring the use of artificial intelligence in PC CDS; 2) capturing the voice of the patient in PC CDS; 3) improving PC CDS implementation, reporting, and measurement; and 4) maximizing the value of PC CDS.

AHRQ Notice of Intent to Publish Funding Opportunity for Research on Patient-Centered Clinical Decision Support

AHRQ has released a notice of intent to publish a funding opportunity for Implementing and Evaluating PC CDS Strategies in Real-World Settings (U18). Applicants will propose innovative collaborative research to understand how CDS tools in real-world healthcare settings can be improved to become more patient-centered. Funded research will contribute to generalizable knowledge about how patients, families, and caregivers can become meaningful partners in the codesign, implementation, use, and evaluation of PC CDS.

Since 2016, AHRQ’s Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) CDS Initiative and the CDS Innovation Collaborative in particular, has developed resources that are now publicly available for investigator-initiated research to further develop, test, and build upon in real-world healthcare settings. Using these resources as starting materials, applicants will propose innovative collaborative research to understand how CDS tools in real-world healthcare settings can be improved to become more patient centered.

The notice of funding opportunity will be published in late Spring 2024, and applications will be due in Summer 2024. Read more about this exciting opportunity here.

Scaling, Measurement, and Dissemination of CDS Workgroup: Approaches to Measuring Patient-Centered CDS Workflow and Lifeflow Impact

Developed by the AHRQ CDSiC Scaling, Measurement, and Dissemination of CDS Workgroup, this report summarizes workflow and lifeflow impacts captured in the literature and provides a framework to help identify the optimal point for a patient-centered CDS tool’s deployment in a patient's lifeflow.

Standards and Regulatory Frameworks Workgroup: Improving Interoperability of Patient Apps with the Health IT Ecosystem

Developed by the AHRQ CDSiC Standards and Regulatory Frameworks Workgroup, this report identifies several opportunities for further advancement of patient-centered clinical decision support (PC CDS) standards to support the interoperability between patient apps and electronic health records (EHRs) and other health information technology (IT) systems.

The Clinical Decision Support Innovation Collaborative (CDSiC) is a community of broad, diverse stakeholders at the forefront of using technology to better support care teams, patients, and caregivers. The CDSiC is working toward healthcare decisions that are driven by both patient-centered and patient-specific information and that align with patient needs, preferences, and values. The CDSiC is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as part of a multi-component initiative to help advance patient-centered outcomes research into practice through CDS.
