Per the notice below, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued its listing of the top challenges facing HHS in 2024.
2024 Top Management & Performance Challenges Facing HHS
OIG has identified five top management and performance challenges facing the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as it works to fulfill its mission of enhancing the health and well-being of all Americans. The five challenges are: 1) Public Health; 2) Financial Integrity; 3) Medicare and Medicaid; 4) Beneficiary Safety; and 5) Data and Technology Security. These challenges reflect broad issues that impact multiple HHS programs and responsibilities, though they are not the only challenges the department faces. OIG reports are a key resource for highlighting specific opportunities to improve HHS programs and operations.
