The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

The mission of the 9^th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

There are three items of interest to dentistry on the December 2024 New York State Board of Regents meeting agenda: 1) regulatory amendments on registered dental assistants applying topical fluoride varnish; 2) the Regents 2025 regulatory agenda, which includes one proposed amendment to dental licensing examination regulations to adopt the Integrated National Board Dental Examination; and 3) the Regents 2025 legislative and budget priorities, which includes one initiative seeking an additional $1.6 million in Office of Professions spending authority.
