The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

HHS OIG Issues MFCUs Annual Report

Per the notice below, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued its annual report on the performance of state Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCUs), including New York.  You can read the data on New York and other state MFCUs here: HHS OIG MFCU State Data Report.

Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCUs) investigate and prosecute Medicaid provider fraud and patient abuse or neglect.  OIG, which oversees and annually approves Federal funding for MFCUs through a recertification process, released a new report analyzing case outcomes submitted by 53 MFCUs for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024.  In FY 2024, MFCUs operating across all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands reported 1,151 convictions, 1,042 exclusions from Federally funded programs, and 493 civil settlements and judgments, totaling $1.4 billion in recoveries.
