HRSA Announces Application Process for the 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program and Request for Public Comment

Today, HRSA announced the availability of a voluntary 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program for drugs on the CMS Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Selected Drug List for year 2026 from qualifying manufacturers meeting specific criteria.  HRSA is introducing this pilot program to test the rebate model on these drugs in a methodical and thoughtful approach to ensure a fair and transparent 340B rebate model process.  HRSA is implementing this pilot to better understand the merits and shortcomings of the rebate model from the perspective of affected stakeholders, and to help shape any future 340B rebate models that align with the 340B statute and the Administration’s goals.  Read the press release.

HRSA’s Commitment to Safe Organ Procurement and Donation

Under the leadership of the Trump Administration, HRSA is working to reform America’s organ procurement and donation system to ensure the safety and trust of patients, donors, and families.  On July 22, Dr. Raymond Lynch, Chief of HRSA’s Organ Transplant Branch, testified during a congressional hearing with the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, discussing oversight of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and HRSA’s commitment to safe organ donation and procurement.  Read the HHS press release for more information.

HRSA Transitions to GrantSolutions Management System

HRSA is transitioning from the Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) to GrantSolutions, a shared service provider that supports the full lifecycle of grants management.  Some organizations may already be familiar with GrantSolutions for the management of grants with other awarding agencies.  This transition for HRSA will streamline grant management activities and enhance operational efficiencies across HHS.  GrantSolutions offers various capabilities, including the automation of the grant Funding Opportunity process; streamlined application review, approval, and award processing; Risk Management Services and closeout workflows.  Some post-award reporting tasks will remain in EHBs.  Over the coming weeks, onboarding activities will begin for select programs.  Please stay tuned for more detailed information including timelines, training opportunities and helpful resources.
