Welcome to the Ninth District Dental Association

The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1200 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

Workplace Accommodations: A High-Impact, Low-Cost Solution

Workplace accommodations are at the heart of every accessible work environment.  The right accommodation—whether a modified work schedule or screen-reading software—can help talented people with disabilities perform their best on the job.  Often, effective accommodations are easy to implement and cost less than employers think.  In a United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Job Accommodation Network (JAN) survey of employers, 61% of respondents who provided cost information for an accommodation they implemented said it cost nothing.  Another 33% reported that their accommodation incurred only a one-time expense, with a median cost of $300.  Lastly, 6% said their accommodations resulted in ongoing costs, with a median annual cost of $2,400.  Read JAN’s updated annual “Low Cost, High Impact” report for more key findings.
