Welcome to the Ninth District Dental Association

The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

Alert: Scammers Posing as NYSED Target Dentists

Oct 23, 2025

There have been reports of a scam targeting dentists across New York State. Scammers are impersonating representatives from the New York State Education Department, claiming to be investigating “narcotics activity” or “money laundering” linked to a dentist’s DEA number. During these fraudulent calls, they may request bank account information, Social Security numbers, or other personal details, claiming the information is needed to verify records.

Please be advised:

  • The New York State Education Department will never call to request financial or personal information related to your professional license or DEA number.

  • If you receive such a call, do not share any information and hang up immediately.

Stay vigilant and share this warning with your colleagues to help prevent further scams.
