The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

Advocacy in Action: 2025 Wins/2026 Goals

NYSDA is kicking off 2026 by building on key victories from 2025 and advancing legislative priorities that will shape the future of dentistry in New York State. Through persistent advocacy, NYSDA secured several major victories last year:
  • Virtual Credit Card (VCC) Bill — Signed Into Law: Dentists now choose how they get paid, ending insurer mandates for costly virtual credit card payments.
  • Workers’ Compensation Dental Fee Increase: First increase since 2009, modernizing reimbursement across New York State.
  • SUNY Reconnect — Expanding Education Access: Dental hygiene included in free tuition programs for adult learners aged 25–55, strengthening the dental workforce.
  • Collaborative Dental Hygiene Practice Bill — Signed Into Law: Dental hygienists can now collaborate with dentists outside traditional hospital settings, expanding access to care in underserved communities.

NY-9DDS WEB: "Addendum to the Amended New York State Mandated Child Abuse Training Course"

Only those who have taken the Part I Update are eligible to take the Addendum rather than the full course. You must, therefore, call HQs with your credit card information (914-747-1199) to register. The addendum to the 2025 Updated Mandated Reporter Training in Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect is an additional license requirement for licensed professionals in New York State. This 1/2 hour webinar can only be taken by those who took Part 1 of the Updated mandate through the 9th, so MUST be registered for by calling or emailing the office. This course meets the curriculum requirements for the Mandated Reporter Training that all licensed professionals are required to complete before November 17, 2026.

Give-Kids-a-Smile Event

We have been invited to do our GKAS education and screening presentation on Monday, February 9th from 9:30–11:30 am. We plan to do the educational presentation and watch a short video at about 9:30 am with the screenings to follow for about fifty (50) preschool-aged children (3-5). Please call or email HQ if you are available to volunteer on February 9th.
