Open applications for elected office have begun
The Nominating Committee will be meeting June 24, 2026 to select nominees to fill open seats on the Ninth’s Executive Committee and the Board of Governors, as well as, open positions for the ADA and NYSDA House of Delegates for 2027.
To: Ninth District Dental Association Members From: Stephan Cancian, Executive Director Open applications for elected office have begun. The Nominating Committee will be meeting June 24, 2026 to select nominees to fill open seats on the Ninth’s Executive Committee and the Board of Governors, as well as, open positions for the ADA and NYSDA House of Delegates for 2027. If you are interested in serving your profession by taking a more active role in Organized Dentistry consider submitting your request on the approved Ninth District Dental Association (NDDA) application to Headquarters. The deadline for these applications is April 24, 2026. NDDA applications submitted from Branch Societies are subject to the rules as set forth in the Administrative Code and Constitution and Bylaws of the Ninth District. Applications will be available on the Ninth's website or can be emailed directly to you. You may also use the below link to download the application. NY-9DDS WEB: "Addendum to the Amended New York State Mandated Child Abuse Training Course"
Only those who have taken the Part I Update are eligible to take the Addendum rather than the full course. You must, therefore, call HQs with your credit card information (914-747-1199) to register.
The addendum to the 2025 Updated Mandated Reporter Training in Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect is an additional license requirement for licensed professionals in New York State. This 1/2 hour webinar can only be taken by those who took Part 1 of the Updated mandate through the 9th, so MUST be registered for by calling or emailing the office. This course meets the curriculum requirements for the Mandated Reporter Training that all licensed professionals are required to complete before November 17, 2026.

Give-Kids-a-Smile Event
We have been invited to do our GKAS education and screening presentation on Monday, February 9th from 9:30–11:30 am.
We plan to do the educational presentation and watch a short video at about 9:30 am with the screenings to follow for about fifty (50) preschool-aged children (3-5).
