HRSA Celebrates Home Visiting Successes

Last week families and home visitors from HRSA’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.  With HHS Secretary Kennedy’s support, the roundtable highlighted how federal investments in maternal health and early childhood development are improving postpartum health, building confident parents, strengthening parent-child bonds, and boosting early language development.

HRSA reaffirms commitment to rural America during the National Rural Health Association Policy Institute

HRSA Administrator Tom Engels and Associate Administrator for the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy Tom Morris, delivered remarks at the National Rural Health Association Policy Institute on Feb.10, reinforcing HRSA’s commitment to strengthening rural health care nationwide.  Speaking to rural health care leaders, providers and advocates, Administrator Engels highlighted the essential role rural hospitals play in delivering high-quality, affordable care to underserved communities.  He emphasized HRSA’s investments in building a strong rural health workforce, advancing telehealth, supporting innovative care delivery models and advancing Make America Healthy Again priorities to improve health outcomes in rural areas.  Building on these themes, Tom Morris outlined FORHP’s work to align Administration priorities across its programs, with a focus on expanding access to care and supporting rural hospital sustainability.  He also noted HRSA’s collaboration with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to implement the Rural Health Transformation Program, highlighting how federal partnerships play a critical role in FORHP’s work beyond HRSA.  Together, Administrator Engels’ and Associate Administrator Morris’ remarks underscored HRSA’s ongoing partnership with rural communities to address workforce shortages, strengthen hospital sustainability, and improve access to care.

HRSA Requests Feedback on 340B Rebate Model Pilot

HRSA issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit stakeholder input regarding the potential use of rebates to effectuate the ceiling price under the 340B Program, including the standards and procedures that should govern the approval of manufacturer rebate plans and the impacts on all stakeholders.  This RFI seeks comments on whether HRSA should implement a rebate model under the 340B Program and how best to operationalize any such rebate framework for stakeholders.  The information collected through this RFI will assist HRSA in evaluating the operational, financial, and drug access for patients of a rebate model on covered entities, manufacturers, and other stakeholders across the drug supply chain.  To provide stakeholders additional time to submit meaningful comments for HRSA’s review in evaluating operational, financial, and potential impacts on access to drugs for patients under a rebate model, HRSA has extended the comment period from 30 days to 60 days.  Feedback on the RFI is due no later than April 20, 2026.  In addition, in compliance with the requirement for opportunity for public comment on proposed data collection projects of the Paperwork Reduction Act, HRSA seeks comments from the public regarding the burden estimate or any other aspect of the Information Collection Request (ICR), related to a potential 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program.  Comments on this ICR should be received no later than April 27, 2026.
