Giving the Gift of Life: Celebrate National Donate Life Month in April | April is National Donate Life Month, a time to highlight the generosity of organ, eye, and tissue donors and their families and the impact of donation on patients waiting for a transplant. More than 46,000 transplants were performed in 2025, yet the need remains high. More than 100,000 people are currently on the national waiting list, and over 90,000 need a kidney transplant. HRSA Awards Over $5 Million to train Primary Care Medical and Dental Residents| On March 17, HRSA announced over $5 million in funding to 26 teaching health centers through the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) program. These health centers operate primary care medical and dental residency programs located in rural and community health centers. Through this investment, HRSA will support nearly 100 residents this year, strengthening the health workforce and expanding access to care across the country. Read the press release. |
HRSA is Updating the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Parts A and B Formula Funding Methodology | On March 16, HRSA announced updates to the funding methodology used to calculate Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Parts A and B formula awards. Beginning in fiscal year 2026, these formula awards will begin a five-year transition that will calculate funding based on a person’s most recent address, rather than place of residence at the time of HIV diagnosis. The change better aligns resources with jurisdictions where people with HIV currently live and receive life-saving care and treatment services. Read the press release. |
