Synopsis:  To Extract or not to extract . . . that is the question.  Third molars are the most commonly impacted teeth.  This lecture will focus on the systematic clinical and radiographic evaluation of third molars to determine the best course of treatment.  There will be a focus on the risks, options, and benefits of extracting third molars versus leaving them in place.

Objectives:
1.  To clinically and radiographically evaluate third molars
2.  To determine the level of risk associated with extracting or leaving third molars.
3.  To become fluent in communicating with the patient and specialist when dealing with third molars.
