"Lingual and IAN Nerve Repair"

Synopsis:  This lecture provides a comprehensive overview of inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) and lingual nerve injuries; including relevant surgical anatomy, mechanisms of injury, clinical evaluation, and diagnostic work-up.  Emphasis will be placed on indications and timing for surgical intervention, micro-surgical nerve repair and grafting techniques; treatment planning, and expected outcomes.  Practical considerations for managing nerve injuries associated with third-molar surgery, dental implants, mandibular surgery, and trauma will also be discussed.
