"Oral cancer & Precancerous Lesions"

Synopsis:  Oral cancer is most treatable when it is caught early, and the dental team is often the first to see it. This course reviews how oral cancer and precancerous lesions present clinically, from subtle red and white mucosal changes to the signs of advanced disease, and walks through practical approaches to examination, adjunctive screening tools, and biopsy. Using clinical cases, participants will learn to distinguish common benign and reactive lesions from those that warrant concern, and to decide with confidence when to monitor, when to biopsy, and when to refer. The session closes with an overview of current management, from surveillance of precancerous lesions through surgical and adjuvant treatment of oral cancer.
